Russian cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova is seen during a training session, at Baikonur cosmodrome, in June 1963. She became the first woman to fly into space on Vostok 6, 16 June 1963.

Tereshkova, the first female cosmonaut was born 75 years ago on this day. Happy Birthday!
