Apollo 11 Training-Used “CSM TEC” Star Chart signed by John Young. This chart was designed to be used in the command module for the trip home, known as the Transearth coast. The Sun, Earth, Venus, Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, and the moon are all portrayed by colored dots in order to stand out against the star field. The outlines of a number of constellations are shown and many stars are named and numbered, including the stars named (backwards) for the crew of the ill-fated Apollo 1: “DNOCES” (Edward White the Second), REGOR (Roger Chaffee), and “NAVI” (Ivan “Gus” Grissom).
